Join pro photographer Don Orkoskey of WDO Photography Pittsburgh, at the monthly nature photography meetup in Frick Park. This is a free event open to everyone and the only one of it’s kind in Pittsburgh.
Everyone is welcome. Join us, no matter your skill level, age, or type of equipment. Meet a bunch of other photographers, nature lovers, and enthusiastic friends as we explore Frick Park and photograph the plants, animals, fungus, or whatever else we see that grabs our attention.
No experience is necessary, newbies are welcome as are working professionals.
Please be early as the nature photography meetup begin right at 9:30 am. The group meets at the fountain near the entrance to the meadow (and for now construction site) at the end of the promenade that runs from the main entrance in front of the environmental center.
If you’ve parked in the lot under the solar panels take the sidewalk opposite of the driving entrance, pass the bathrooms, and you’ll find the group where the trail meets the fountain. However, if you’re coming in between the gatehouses walk straight past the Frick Environmental Center (which will be on the right) to the end of the paved path and the fountain.
Nature photography in Pittsburgh is fun and easy. We’re so close to amazing parks and wild areas. Plus there are a ton of resources to help you get started and keep going. The forest coverage we have helps loads of birds to stay here as well as lots of other creatures. If you love nature and want to begin to photograph it or to learn how to do so better then join Don’s monthly nature photography meetup!
These meetups started in 2021 as a way for people to socialize safely during the pandemic. Today, they’re still a great way to meet others interested in nature and photography in Pittsburgh. Plus, they’re perfect for learning more about our local ecosystem, photography, and each other.
